Preise für Whisky gibt es sehr viele – manche allerdings sind Auszeichnungen, die mehr Strahlkraft besitzen als andere. Dazu gehören die Icons of Whisky Awards, die vom Whisky Magazine jährlich vergeben werden.

In drei Kategorien gibt es auch 2017 wieder Preisträger zu berichten: Schottland, Rest der Welt und Indien. Die letzte Kategorie mag aus europäischer Sicht erstaunen, aber man darf nicht vergessen, dass Indien der größte Whiskymarkt der Welt ist, und noch ein sehr dynamischer dazu.
