Illva Saronno kauft Mehrheitsbeteiligung an Sagamore Spirit
Mit dem Kauf der Mehrheitsanteile um eine nicht genannte Summe will man die Präsenz am amerikanischen Markt verbessern
Eine der bekannteren amerikanischen Whiskymarken hier bei uns im deutschen Sprachraum ist Sagamore Spirit, dank des rührigen Importeurs und Youtubers WhiskyJason. Auf vielen Messen vertreten, haben die Whiskys aus Baltimore hier eine merkliche Gefolgschaft.
10 Jahre nach der Gründung von Sagamore Spirits haben nun die Besitzverhältnisse gewechselt: Der italienische Konzern Illva Saronno (auch im Besitz der Walsh Whiskey Distillery in Irland – nicht aber der Marken) hat laut einem Bericht in The Spirits Business einen Mehrheitsanteil an Sagamore Spirits übernommen – für eine nicht veröffentlichte Summe.
Mit dem Kauf wollte man die Präsenz in den USA verstärken, so das Unternehmen. Im Zuge der Übernahme wird man auch das amerikanische Hauptquartier von Illva Saronno aus New Chersey nach Marlyand in Baltimore verlegen.
