Noch ist es mit dem Reisen nicht einfach, was die Quarantänebestimmungen betrifft, aber es häufen sich die Anzeichen, dass der Whiskytourismus zunächst einmal für Einheimische langsam wieder möglich sein wird – und das lässt für die mittelfristige Zukunft auch für uns „Ausländer“ hoffen.
Nachdem nun einige schottische Brennereien wie zum Beispiel die Lagg Distillery auf Arran (ab morgen) oder Glengoyne (hier schon seit letzter Woche) für Besucher wiedereröffnen, ist es ab morgen auch bei der St. George’s Distillery der English Whisky Distilling Company soweit: Shop und Restaurant sind wieder geöffnet, ab 17. Mai soll es dann auch wieder Touren geben:
From Monday 12th April, we are re-opening our doors and can’t wait to welcome you back.
Our shop will re-open, fully stocked with our complete range of English whisky, along with a great range of glassware, clothing and gifts. Feel free to pop into browse!
The beautiful river walk within the distillery grounds will also be open.
Our friends at OakVilla Restaurant will also be opening their doors for the first time for outdoor service only. A beautiful stretch tent will keep the rain off, should the weather not be perfectly sunny.
