Freunde fassstarker Whiskys werden sich freuen: Die Glasgow Distillery hat heute eine neue Serie von Cask Strength Bottlings angekündigt. Der Glasgow 1770 Peated Cask Strength Batch 01 und der Glasgow 1770 The Original Cask Strength Batch 01 sind heute der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt worden und werden in Kürze auch in Deutschland erhältlich sein (wir werden dann gesondert noch einmal berichten).
Allerdings: Die Mengen der Abfüllungen sind sehr gering, weltweit stehen davon 750 und 1000 Flaschen zur Verfügung! Die Batchnummer lässt aber vermuten, dass wir sie dann später wieder in Neuauflage erleben werden.

THE GLASGOW DISTILLERY DEBUTS CASK STRENGTH SERIES
The Glasgow Distillery has released cask strength editions of two of its most celebrated single malts in the first of what will be an ongoing series of batched cask strength releases.
Glasgow 1770 Peated Cask Strength Batch 01 and Glasgow 1770 The Original Cask Strength Batch 01, will give fans an insight into the unadulterated, raw character of two of the distillery’s most popular expressions, straight from the cask.
“Every whisky we sample at the distillery is initially tasted at cask strength before dilution. We wanted to give customers the chance to experience amplified versions of two of our signature styles of spirit and an insight into what we get to taste day-to-day.

“First released in 2018, Glasgow 1770 The Original is our inaugural and most highly decorated expression, winning a series of awards in 2023 including Gold at the International Spirits Challenge and the highest merit of Master at the Spirits Business Scotch Whisky Masters.
“We handpicked three exemplary casks of The Original that we felt best represented our flagship style, and married them together to create this Batch 01 release.
“At cask strength, the defining fruity heart of our unpeated double distilled spirit is magnified, with prominent notes of zesty Seville orange marmalade, dried apricot, toffee apple, poached pear and toasted pineapple and rich dark fruits and luscious vanilla to finish.
“Glasgow 1770 Peated has been crowned ‘Best Lowland Single Malt’ in 2020, 2021 and 2022 at the International Whisky Competition.
“For Batch 01 we chose three hogsheads that demonstrate a stunning showcase of our peated style with notes of rich BBQ sauce, tobacco leaf and opulent smoked Iberico ham married with sticky poached plums, dried apricot and flamed orange zest.”
Glasgow 1770 Peated Cask Strength Batch 01 has been bottled at 60.8% with 1000 bottles available. Glasgow 1770 The Original Cask Strength Batch 01 is available at 61.3% with a more limited run of 750 bottles.
Both releases are available on The Glasgow Distillery website and in specialist retailers across the UK, with an RRP of £64 for The Original Cask Strength and £66 for Peated Cask Strength.
They will also soon be available in Germany, South Korea, Taiwan, Denmark, Poland, Belgium, and Switzerland.
