Highland Park bringt neue Abfüllungen für den Travel Retail

Highland Park bestückt den Global Travel Retail neu

Mit einer englischsprachigen Presseaussendung hat die Destillerie Highland Park heute eine neue Range für den weltweiten Travel Retail angekündigt. Insgesamt handelt es sich um vier Bottlings, drei davon sind mit Altersangabe. In Europa werden drei davon noch im Juli veröffentlicht, der vierte, der 18jährige Viking Pride mit 46% Alkohol, soll dann im Verlauf des Sommers folgen (von ihm haben wir leider keinen Packshot).

  • Highland Park Spirit of the Bear (1 Liter) ist ein No Age Statement Whisky und mit 40% Alkohol abgefüllt. Er ist die Einstiegsvariante der neuen Serie und stammt vornehmlich aus sherry-seasoned American Oak casks.

  • Highland Park Loyality of the Wolf 14yo (1 Liter) ist mit 42.3% Alkohol abgefüllt und stammt aus sherry-seasoned American oak casks und ex-Bourbon casks.
    Tasting Notes: Vanilla sponge cake | Baked apples | Cinnamon | Light smoky peat | 100% Natural Colour
  • Highland Park Wings of The Eagle 16yo (0.7 Liter) wird mit 44.5% Alkohol in die Flasche gefüllt und stammt aus aherry-seasoned European und American oak casks.
    Tasting Notes: Sweet figs and apricots | Warm nutmeg | Chocolate coated marzipan | Aromatic peat smoke | 100% Natural Colour
  • Schließlich wird es noch den Highland Park Viking Pride 18yo geben, der mit 46% Alkohol abgefüllt ist (also stärker als das Pendant im normalen Fachhandel). Er stammt aus sherry-seasoned European oak casks.

HIGHLAND PARK BARES ITS VIKING SOUL WITH STUNNING NEW COLLECTION DEVELOPED EXCLUSIVELY FOR GLOBAL TRAVEL RETAIL

July 2018 – Highland Park, the award-winning Orkney Single Malt with Viking Soul, is set to build on its strong momentum in travel retail with a new range of four whiskies developed exclusively for the channel.

The new collection will see the re-introduction of age statements as well as new packaging and bottle designs which bring Highland Park’s travel retail offer in line with the brand’s domestic range. Created by Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, each expression in the collection showcases different aspects of Highland Park’s distinctive flavour profile and natural, cask driven colour. Consumer navigation is aided by range graphics on the back of each pack as well as clear flavour descriptions for each product.

This new collection draws inspiration from animals that held iconic status for the Vikings. Highland Park’s island home of Orkney, off the far north coast of Scotland, belonged to a vast Viking kingdom for over 600 years and this influence continues today with the whisky being made by modern day descendants of Vikings.

SPIRIT OF THE BEAR 1 LITRE

Providing an entry point into the new range, the smoky and bold SPIRIT OF THE BEAR pays homage to a creature admired for its resilience and independence. Its intense aromatic smokiness is produced by Highland Park’s unique, woodless Orkney peat, hand-cut from Hobbister Moor, only seven miles from the distillery. A bright, natural golden straw colour, SPIRIT OF THE BEAR is primarily matured in sherry-seasoned American Oak casks and bottled at 40% ABV.

14 YEAR OLD LOYALTY OF THE WOLF 1 LITRE

The second expression in the series, 14 Year Old Loyalty Of The Wolf is a sweet and complex whisky. It displays a fine balance of contrasting flavours and reflects the character of the wolf, with which the Vikings felt tremendous affinity. This naturally light, burnished gold whisky is matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak casks and ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 42.3% ABV.

16 YEAR OLD WINGS OF THE EAGLE 70cl

A central figure in Viking legends, the Eagle also sits at the heart of the new range; 16 YEAR OLD WINGS OF THE EAGLE is a spicy and elegant whisky, with layers of flavour derived from its combination of whiskies matured in both sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. 16 YEAR OLD WINGS OF THE EAGLE is a natural glowing amber colour, and bottled at 44.5% ABV.

18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE TRAVEL EDITION 70cl

The pinnacle of the collection, 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE TRAVEL EDITION offers the opportunity to try the award-winning domestic 18 year old at its marrying strength of 46% ABV, which delivers a naturally darker whisky with a fuller flavour. It is matured primarily in sherry-seasoned European oak casks.

SPIRIT OF THE BEAR, 14 YEAR OLD LOYALTY OF THE WOLF AND 16 YEAR OLD WINGS OF THE EAGLE are due to be released in European travel retail from July 2018 with 18 YEAR OLD VIKING PRIDE TRAVEL EDITION following later in the Summer.

The full new collection is expected to be available in major Asian and Middle Eastern airports from September 2018 and in the Americas from December 2018.
