Redcross was historically a very important meeting point for people on their way to and from Dublin, the town was a stopping point for people along with their horse and cart. When Oliver Cromwell invaded Ireland back in the 1600’s his men burned down the church that stood in Redcross, many years later the community gathered together and a new church was constructed in Barranisky in the year 1803. Ian’s family made a donation in the 1800’s for the stained glass windows that are there to this day. Our logo is based on the unusual copper cross that stands in the graveyard to the rear of the site where the original Redcross church once stood. The cross is the only one of its kind, standing out among the dozens of stone headstones that surround it; we both agreed that the cross made a fitting logo for our whiskeys.
