Der unabhängige Abfüller Claxton’s aus London präsentiert mit seiner neuesten Winterabfüllung sechs interessante Single Cask Malts und einen Single Cask Grain – darunter zum Beispiel ein 18 Jahre alter Port Charlotte aus Bruichladdich. Die Whiskys kamen mit einem Alter zwischen neun und dreiundzwanzig Jahren in die Flasche – durch die Einzelfassabfüllungen sind sie natürlich limitiert.
Die Abfüllungen werden bei Genuss am Gaumen in Österreich (bis auf den Caol Ila) & bei Pinkernell’s Whisky Market in Deutschland verfügbar sein. Hier nun alle Details zu den Whiskys und die Notes des Abfüllers dazu:

Notes: One of Loch Lomond Distilleries finest malts sitting slightly below Inchfad on the peated scale with an earthy peat and chalkiness on the nose, white pepper and vanilla biscuits on the pallet and cinnamon and cloves on the finish. A brilliant and warming winter dram.

Notes: One of Claxton’s favourites and a tried and tested quality malt with consistently great spirit. Fresh and vibrant with sharp peated notes on the nose, lemon and citrus fruits on the pallet.

Notes: A rare opportunity to capture one of the highest age statement bottlings of Bruichladdich’s Port Charlotte available in the market. The distillery re-opened in may 2001 and this was distilled in July 2001. Floral and fruity and light on the nose it bursts with peat on the pallet with an explosion of vanilla. coconut flavour and pine forests on the finish. A quite unique and special bottling.
Ben Nevis 1995 – 23 Jahre

Notes: Tea and strawberry creams on the nose followed by a wet moss, bubblegum and a hint of metallic minerality on the palate. This finishes with Brazil nuts and cocoa. Probably one of the most complex drams we have tried all year that evolves hugely over time. Very complex and highly interesting. This one takes you on a huge journey and one to enjoy for a few hours sat by an open fire whilst reading Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Incredible dram.

Notes: a brilliant example of what a quality grain whisky can achieve we matured for a good length of time and captured and bottled at exactly the right moment. Now a closed distillery so there remains a limited opportunity to enjoy such whiskies and a great example with excellent quality/value for the age statement.
