Die Rolf Kaspar GmbH, Importeur der Whiskys des unabhängigen Abfüllers Adelphi, hat uns über vier neue Adelphi-Bottlings informiert, die ab sofort in Deutschland erhältlich sind. Dabei auch der THE E&K – 5 year old Scotch Indian Fusion Malt Whisky, ein fassstarker Whisky, der aus einem indischen Single Malt und schottischen Single Malts komponiert wurde und in einer weltweiten Auflage von nur 800 Flaschen auf den Markt kommt (über ihn haben wir vor Weihnachten bereits ausführlich berichtet).

Neues von Adelphi in Deutschland
THE E&K 5y Scotch Indian Fusion Malt Whisky 0,7 lt
Diese Edition besteht aus 2 Barrels aus Amrut, einem Barrel aus Ardmore und einem Teil eines Sherry butts aus Glenrothes und ist mit 57.8% abgefüllt. UVP: 129,- Euro. Die englischsprachigen Tasting Notes finden Sie untenstehend:

Tasting Notes:
Vibrant copper gold (spun honey) with amber light with moderate beading.
Some nose prickle; nose drying. Very ripe tropical fruits to the fore (mango, papaya, pineapple) on a dry wood base (tea chest, faded sandalwood). Scents reminiscent of India, until you add water, when it becomes more Speyside-like: Sweet, sooty smoke and moorland scents, fused with spices, coconut, milk chocolate and lingering hessian.
At natural strength, the taste is honey-sweet and surprisingly rich. Fruit salad with a chilli-powder finish; Arbroath Smokies combine well with Highland Toffee and dark chocolate.
In the finish, distant peat fires, bitter chocolate, exotic spices and dusty fruit.
GLENALLACHIE 2007 10 year old Speyside
1 von 592 Flaschen aus einem refill sherry cask, Cask Nummer #900828. Abgefüllt mit 57.8%. UVP 79,95 Euro. Nachfolgend die englischsprachigen Tasting Notes:
Tasting Notes:
Deep amber with copper lights; very little beading. Drawn from a First fill Spanish oak Sherry butt.
A mellow and tannic-dry nose-feel, but quite closed to start with. After a while it opens to a burnt brown sugar top note on a base of ‘dusty desk drawer’ with traces of rose-scented furniture polish, giving way to dried raisins in a waxed wrapping.
Teeth coating texture and a taste of dry Oloroso sherry, with a suggestion of cordite in the finish. Water brings up brandy butter, stem ginger and tablet; the taste is now sweeter, less tannic and mouth cooling (star anise); the cordite becomes matchbox striker in the finish.
