Er übernahm den Posten im Jahr 2019 – nun, nach siebeneinhalb Jahren zieht sich der Präsident und CEO von Brown-Forman, Lawson Whiting, in die Pension zurück.
Das Board ist nach eigenen Angaben bereits auf der Suche nach einem Nachfolger, hat aber bislang keine Entscheidung getroffen. Man wolle sowohl interne als auch externe Optionen prüfen.

Auch Whiting äußert sich zu seinen 30 Jahren im Konzern:

Der Abgang und Wechsel kommt für das Unternehmen in einer schwierigen Zeit, in der man für das laufende Finanzjahr einen stagnierenden organischen Nettoumsatz wie auch einen Rückgang des organischen Betriebsergebnis um 3-5% erwartet. Die Aktien fielen seit dem Amtsantritt von Withing von 47 Dollar auf 26,25 Dollar gestern.
