Man schreibt dazu auf Go Fund Me:
Most of our supporters will now be aware that we have been fending off a brutal challenge of our precious name.
We were bruised and battered and relieved that our faith in the process had been rewarded. The press and public response was overwhelmingly positive and supportive towards Loch Ness Spirits .
Over the festive season we dared to look to the future though a more optimistic lens. However, that hope has been rudely dispatched as Duncan Taylor have launched a furious demand to appeal the judgement. This could be to an Appointed Person (in London) or to a Court (in Scotland or England).
This new attack has upped the ante significantly and catapults us into another level of dispute. We are now fighting for the survival of our beloved company.
You are recognised as a valued supporter of our brand and we would ask you for any support you can give us to ensure we keep our brand, our intellectual property and our sanity!
We have worked hard to cover the legal fees for the last two years but with another round pending and the prospect of a QC-led defence, we need your help. All donations will go towards our legal costs to defend this attack. In the event of surplus funds, we will publish the amount and donate to a local charity.
NB For transparency, we plan to launch a concurrent campaign on crowdjustice.com as we appreciate some people may be keen to participate but put off donating to us as individuals. In this case the funds are paid directly to the solicitor. At the end we will publish how much was raised and used on each platform.

The Bath Street beautifully renovated location is in the heart of the city, just a few minutes’ walk from Glasgow Queen Street Station, and will be open every week from Tuesday until Sunday exclusively for SMWS members and their guests.
Venue Manager at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society Glasgow Members’ Room, Calum Lawson said:
“So many of our members are based in and around the wonderful city of Glasgow, so opening a Members’ Room here was the natural move.
“Our haggis hunt is a great way for members and non-members alike to come together and experience the fun of the Society. Who knows, we could have some brand-new members by the end of the weekend.“
The Scotch Malt Whisky Society was founded in 1983 through a spirit of friendship – a small group of people who used the discovery of single cask whisky as a reason to get together and enjoy each other’s company. The SMWS now has more than 26,000 members across the world.
*The prizes are available at The Good Spirits Co, 23 Bath Street until 31st January 2020.
Nearly 300,000 Guests Visited Historic Distillery in 2019
FRANKFORT, Franklin County, Ky (Jan. 21, 2020) – Buffalo Trace Distillery experienced phenomenal tourism growth over the past decade, having increased visitation to the National Historic Landmark Distillery by 466 percent since 2010.
The Distillery ended 2019 having welcomed a record-breaking 293,996 visitors during the calendar year. This is a 35 percent increase in visitation over the previous year.
Over the course of 2019, Buffalo Trace reached significant milestones in its ongoing $1.2 billion investment to make more whiskey and accommodate the increased visitation.
This fall, repairs, restoration and painting kicked off behind the scenes at Buffalo Trace, specifically behind the back wall of the Visitor Center. Though having just completed an expansion of its Visitor Center in 2015, Buffalo Trace is again expanding in order to accommodate the continued tourism growth.
Much of the construction and expansion work will continue to take place out of the way and will have minimal impact on guests visiting the Distillery, as the Visitor Center will be expanding further back into the building it currently resides. Work will take place behind the back wall until the expansion work is complete. Then the existing Visitor Center will receive updates and work will be completed to make the building a cohesive space. The Distillery anticipates the Visitor Center expansion to wrap up later this year.
The expanded Visitor Center will be utilized to exhibit more Distillery archives, and as the expanded space will back up to the recently completed fermenter expansion, the Visitor Center will have backdoor access to the whiskey making process, allowing for new and updated tour routes. The expanded space will also supply another event location for hosting evening parties.
Just as tourism continues to grow, so is demand for more bourbons made by Buffalo Trace, which is why the Distillery made some major upgrades to expand its distilling capabilities in 2019, embracing the first large scale structural expansion on the campus since the end of Prohibition.
Right before Christmas, the Distillery started up its brand new, 22-foot cookers for the first time. A recap of this milestone can be viewed here, and downloaded here. Four of these massive cookers, which are responsible for pressure cooking the milled grains before they are cooled and fermented, were installed in 2019. The new cookers span three floors in height, and the Distillery had to remove the roof of its Mash House to lower them into the building.
This, and several other Distillery upgrades Buffalo Trace has been working on over the past year will allow the Distillery to greatly increase its whiskey production, as demand for its whiskies continues to grow.
Along with the cooker upgrade, the distillery installed four new fermenters this past summer, after having to raise the roof by nine feet. The fermenters are 92,000 gallons a piece – the same size as Buffalo Trace’s other fermenters. Additionally, a new cooling tower, which cools down the grains after they are cooked into mash, was added.
All this whiskey has to go somewhere to age, so the Distillery has been busy on that front too. Six new warehouses which each hold 58,800 barrels now stand on the farm adjacent to the Distillery, with two more under construction, and many more planned over the next several years. Latest new barrel warehouse progress can be viewed, and downloaded here.
“The growth we are seeing in all aspects of the Distillery is really exciting,” Meredith Moody, director of homeplace development said. “We are eager to show all of our distilling upgrades to new and returning guests on our updated Hard Hat Tour. It’s a whole new experience, whether you are a first time visitor or have toured many times.”
Buffalo Trace is currently offering a modified Hard Hat Tour, which takes guests through the recent fermenter expansion. The Distillery anticipates reincorporating the updated Mash House into the Hard Hat Tour route by early February once final construction elements are complete in that building.

Did the village make the distillery or did the distillery make the village? The truth is that the fortunes of the two have been inextricably linked for over 250 years ago. The distillery fuelled the local economy for generations yet it was the people that pulled it back from the brink on more than one occasion.
The local area is synonymous with whiskey-making, according to Global Brand Ambassador for Kilbeggan Whiskey, John Cashman. An abundant supply of barley and turf plus its riverside location made it an obvious place to make whiskey.
M&H Distillery Releases in February 2020 its First Commercial Single Malt Whisky in Germany
Tel Aviv, Israel – February 2020: M&H Distillery, Israel’s first and Tel Aviv’s only whisky distillery, will release in February its long-awaited Classic Single Malt Whisky. The products will be on shelves across Germany, with expansion coming to 10 markets including France, Netherlands, UK, Belgium, Austria, Poland, South Africa, Canada, Australia and the United States.
The Classic Single Malt Whisky was matured in the finest ex-bourbon and special red-wine STR casks, giving it a light and balanced character, with notes of vanilla light oak, alongside a light black pepper spiciness. In Tel Aviv’s unique hot and humid climate, whisky matures and extracts barrel flavour faster than in traditional whisky countries, giving its spirit the characteristics of an older whisky.
„After years of hard work and perseverance, we are excited to finally launch our commercial whisky. It is quite a challenge to set up a distillery in Tel Aviv, but we chose to go all the way and fulfill our dream of producing whisky that proudly stands alongside leading brands from around the world.“
explains Gal Kalkstein, owner of M&H Distillery.
In the second quarter of 2020, the distillery will present its first release of the Elements series, – sherry finish. The Element Series will amplify the depth and complexity of the Classic M&H single malt whisky. Next to follow are lightly peated version and red wine casks .
Since late 2019, the distillery’s collection of spirits have been imported in Germany by Kammer Kirsch within their whisky portfolio. The brand is already available across Europe, Australia, Canada and 2020 will mark M&H Distillery’s debut within the US, Spain, Russian and South African market.
M&H Distillery’s line of popular spirits have been awarded with the highest accolades in the industry from its Young Single Malt “The Last One” winning the Golden Medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2019 and the Silver Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2019. M&H’s Levantine Gin was a Gold Medalist at the 2019 Frankfurt International Trophy and the Oak Aged Gin won the Golden Medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition 2019, IWSC.
Since its establishment in 2012, M&H distillery launched its operations under the advisement of late whisky legend, Dr. Jim Swan, and emphasizes quality and innovation. The distillery follows Scottish whisky standards and regulations “to the T,” from its production to its fermentation, distillation, maturation, blending, bottling. The ingredients, equipment, barrels and production process are all carefully managed to ensure a true top-shelf, world-class product.
Staying within the Scottish whisky guidelines, M&H has been as experimental as one can, pushing the boundaries of the industry and testing the waters with new flavors and properties. One such experiment brought them to different climate zones across Israel one of them is the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, where they are currently aging on the roof of a hotel. With whiskies ageing in pomegranate wine casks, among other top secret experiments, M&H is constantly trying to innovate, whether that be the cask choice or where they age the casks – the desert being the next stop.
Eitan Attir, CEO of M&H Distillery explains:
„M&H fills approximately 800 barrels a year (approximately 170,000 litres of New Make Spirit), so by 2021 the distillery will be producing and selling over a quarter of a million bottles around the world. We work vigorously and plan years in advance to offer the world a new, single malt whiskey from Tel Aviv.“
Diageo rolls out the barrel for Scottish Rugby Official Charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation
Rugby legend and inspirational Motor Neuron Disease campaigner Doddie Weir visited Diageo’s new Scottish headquarters in Edinburgh yesterday (Monday 20 January) to accept the donation of a cask of Scotch whisky to raise money for his My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to find a cure for MND.
Johnnie Walker and GUINNESS owners Diageo donated the cask to mark the official opening of the company’s new offices and as part of its support for Scottish Rugby ahead of the forthcoming GUINNESS SIX NATIONS season.
Doddie was joined by another Scottish Rugby hero Chris Paterson – Scotland’s all-time leading points scorer – to represent Scottish Rugby, which supports the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation as one of its Official Charities.
The 2020 GUINNESS SIX NATIONS Championship is the first to feature the world’s most popular Scotch Whisky Johnnie Walker as Official Whisky Partner of Scottish Rugby and of the GUINNESS SIX NATIONS.
Ewan Andrew, President of Diageo Global Supply & Procurement, who leads Diageo’s manufacturing operations around the world from the Edinburgh office, welcomed Doddie and Chris to the new offices and announced the cask donation.
He said:
“Doddie Weir is an inspiration to people everywhere with the remarkable bravery of his campaign. It was a privilege to welcome him to our new offices and to share his incredible campaign with our people.
“We have a powerful connection with rugby through our GUINNESS TITLE PARTNERSHIP of the Six Nations Championship and our Johnnie Walker partnership with Scottish Rugby. What better way to celebrate these partnerships and to mark our move to our new office than by supporting Doddie and his campaign.”
Doddie Weir said:
“I am delighted to accept the donation of this cask of Glenkinchie single malt whisky for my foundation. The momentum behind the campaign keeps growing and it’s terrific to see companies like Diageo and brands like Johnnie Walker stepping up to show their support and to raise funds.”
Scottish Rugby ambassador Chris Paterson said:
“As Doddie continues to inspire us all with his fight against MND, it’s great to see not only the rugby community continue to rally together to support the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, but iconic brand and valued Scottish Rugby partner, Johnnie Walker, joining the fight.”
A ceremonial cask was unveiled at the Diageo Edinburgh event with Doddie. Diageo will now work with the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation team to select a cask of Glenkinchie single malt and to have it bottled for the charity. Glenkinchie Distillery in East Lothian is the closest Diageo distillery to Doddie’s Borders homeland. The distillery is also the Lowland Home of Johnnie Walker with a new state-of-the-art visitor experience due to open later this year.
Sehen Sie selbst:
