Einer der 360 Decanter wurde bereits bei einer Auktion während eines exklusiven Dinners im Shanghai St Regis Hotel in China in der letzten Woche versteigert – zum Preis von umgerechnet etwas über 51.000 Euro. Das macht die Glen Grant Dennis Malcolm 60th Anniversary Edition Aged 60 Years zum teuersten Glen Grant aller Zeiten.

Dagegen nimmt sich der Verkaufspreis der Flaschen, die ab Mitte Oktober in den ausgewählten Handel kommen werden, fast bescheiden aus: 25.000 Euro müssen dafür über den Tresen wandern.

Wenn Sie in nächster Zeit einmal nach Dublin reisen, dann könnte Ihnen ein neuer Tullamore D.E.W. begegnen, den William Grant & Sons heute für den Travel Retail vorgestellt haben:

Der Tullamore D.E.W. Rouge ist ein 13 Jahre alter irischer Single Malt, der mit 40% vol. abgefüllt wurde. Er reifte zunächst in Bourbon- und Sherryfässern, um danach ein Finish in Bordeaux-Fässern zu erhalten. Geschmacklich soll er die Weichheit und die Zugänglichkeit irischer Whiskeys und die Aromen und Vollmundigkeit französischen Rotweins verbinden.

Zunächst wird es ihn nur am Flughafen Dublin geben, zum Preis von 58 Euro, aber im April 2022 wird er international ausgerollt werden – allerdings ebenfalls nur im Duty Free.

Freunde des amerikanischen Bourbons werden sich wie jedes Jahr freuen: Die Buffalo Trace Distillery hat ihre neue Ausgabe der Antique Collection für das Jahr 2021 veröffentlicht.

Was auffällt: In diesem Jahr sind es nur vier Bottlings, die es in die Buffalo Trace Distillery 2021 Antique Collection geschafft haben. Das prominente Opfer ist der George T. Stagg, der wegen eines nicht ins Release passende Geschmacksprofils der im Jahr 2006 befüllten Fässer die Qualitätskontrolle der Destillerie nicht überstand.

George T. Stagg Not Being Released This Year

FRANKFORT, Franklin County, Ky (Oct. 6, 2021) Buffalo Trace Distillery will release its Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) this fall, an ensemble of whiskies of various ages and proofs, ranging from uncut and unfiltered whiskey to whiskies as old as 17 and 18 years.  

But this year, the lineup is missing George T. Stagg, the uncut, unfiltered 15-year-old whiskey.  George T. Stagg will not be part of the release because the 15-year-old barrels do not meet the Distillery’s taste standards for the Stagg brand. “Before any barrel can be dumped and bottled, it goes through rigorous testing procedures numerous times to ensure it is meeting the quality standards set forth for that brand,” said Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley. 

“Unfortunately, this crop of barrels earmarked to be Stagg back when it was put in the barrel in 2006 did not meet the Stagg profile today.  We discussed at great length how to proceed, and ultimately decided we did not feel right about lowering our standards or the age, by dipping into next year’s supply of barrels.  We know fans will be disappointed, as are we, but we could not release a bourbon that we did not feel was up to par with the flavor profile expected of George T. Stagg.” 

There are various measures of quality tests administered to all of Buffalo Trace’s bourbon, everything from checking turbidity and testing samples using gas chromatography.  But the most discriminating test of all is the human palate.  A team of taste testers, who have all gone through sensory analysis training, taste each barrel sample brought to the laboratory at Buffalo Trace to ensure each barrel matches brand standards before it is dumped to be bottled. If one taster disagrees, the barrel is sent back to be aged longer. 

“Quality is always paramount for our products,” said Drew Mayville, master blender, director of quality. “If the taste doesn’t match our expectations, then we will not release it to our customers.  And unfortunately, this year’s yield of Stagg did not meet our expectations.  Good news is, we’ll have the barrels we put up in 2007, which are on track so far for a 2022 release, barring anything unforeseen changes.” 

The four remaining members of the Antique Collection, William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, Eagle Rare 17 Year Old and Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old will be released and should be available at retail starting later this month. Here are details of each:

William Larue Weller

The Antique Collection’s uncut, unfiltered, wheated recipe bourbon is William Larue Weller. The previous release of this wheater was honored with an “Extraordinary/Ultimate Recommendation” at the 2020 Ultimate Spirits Challenge.  The 2021 release was distilled in the winter of 2009 and aged in Warehouses C, D, K, L and Q.  This bourbon registers at 125.3 proof.  A nose of crème brulee, followed by cherry and toasted graham crackers on the palate and a long rich finish of coca, herbs and oak can be found in this year’s offering.

Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye

Thomas H. Handy is the uncut and unfiltered straight rye whiskey. Last year’s release earned a Double Gold Medal at the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.  This year’s Handy was distilled in the spring of 2015; aged in warehouses I, L, O, and K and weighs in at 129.5 proof.  The flavor profile includes anise and cinnamon with a rich finish of spearmint and chocolate. 

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old

This 101 proof whiskey was distilled in Spring of 2002 and aged on the first floor of Warehouse P.  The 2019 Eagle Rare release was honored with “Best of Category” at the Los Angeles International Spirits Competition.  This bourbon has a nose of ripe cherries, vanilla cream and oak, followed by a taste of caramel and coffee and a long finish of oak, pepper and fresh herbs.

Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old

The previous edition of Sazerac Rye 18 Year-Old was named “Best Rye Whiskey Over 15 Years” in the 2021 “Whisky Bible.”  This 2021 straight rye whiskey release has notable flavors of bright apples and herbs, anise and maple syrup on the palate and a finish of cocoa, coffee and dates.  The barrels for this whiskey were filled in the spring of 2003 and it rested on the second and fourth floors of Warehouses K and P.  It is bottled at 90 proof. 

The Antique Collection was introduced more than two decades ago and Buffalo Trace has been humbled by the numerous awards bestowed from such notable publications as Whisky Advocate Magazine, Spirit Journal, and “The Whisky Bible.”

Lochlea Distillery: Erster Single Malt im November

Im Juni konnten wir bereits über die Lochlea Distillery in den Lowlands berichten (nachdem wir schon 2015 über ein, damals noch namenloses Projekt auf der Lochlea-Farm informierten) – und schon damals wurde die erste Abfüllung des eigenen Single Malts für Ende 2021 angekündigt.

Nun ist der Termin konkretisiert: Anfang November werden 7.000 Flaschen des Erstlings veröffentlicht werden. 3.500 Flaschen davon sind für den Markt im Vereinigten Königreich vorgesehen, der Rest wird in die USA und Europa geliefert, in insgesamt 10 Märkte.

Der neue Lochlea Single Malt, der ab August 2018 in die Fässer kam, wird mit 46% vol. abgefüllt werden, und reifte in einer Mischung aus Bourbonfässern und ehemaligen PX-Sherryfässern. Komponiert wurde er von Master Distlller Malcom Rennie, der zuvor bei Kilchoman, Bruichladdich und Ardbeg gearbeitet hat. Der reguläre Verkaufspreis der Erstausgabe: 50 Pfund, ca. 60 Euro.

Auch nach wie vor planmäßig soll die Standardabfüllung der Brennerei Anfang 2022 erscheinen – und sich geschmacklich von der Erstausgabe unterscheiden.

Nahe dem Ort Stamford Bridge in North Yorkshire wird in Kürze die neue Ellers Farm Distillery eröffenen, eigenen Angaben nach die größte Brennerei der Region.

Laut einem Bericht in The Spirits Business wird die Brennerei 1.2 Millionen Flaschen Alkohol jährlich produzieren können – dabei, neben Wodka, Gin und Likören – auch Whisky.

Mit an Bord des Teams rund um Managing Director Andy Braithwaite sind unter anderem Tabatha Hurst als Nachhaltigkeitsbeauftragte (zuvor bei Diageo tätig), Master Distiller Jamie Baggott, Steve Hickey als Sales Director, Gee Lilwall, Head of marketing, Steve Burnett als Finanzchef und Rosalin Brolly, Analystin für Nachhaltigkeit.

Diese starke Ausrichtung auf Nachhaltigkeit, die man im Team sieht, kann man auch daran erkennen, dass die Destillerie von Beginn an CO2-neutral arbeiten wird.

Serge verkostet: Vier alte Braeval/Braes of Glenlivet

Die fast völlig automatisierte Brennerei Braeval, die hauptsächlich Whisky für die Blends von Pernod Ricard liefert, findet man nicht als Standard-Originalabfüllung (ein paar offizielle Sonderabfüllungen gibt es allerdings), dafür aber häufig und häufiger bei unabhängigen Abfüllern, die den Whisky auch unter dem Namen Braes of Glenlivet abfüllen – ihr alter Name.

Serge Valentin hat diesmal vier alte Braeval verkostet, zwischen 23 und 29 Jahre lang sind die Whiskys gereift, und alle können sehr gute Punktewertungen erringen:

Zwei spannende Neuheiten haben wir für Sie in der us-amerikanischen TTB-Datenbank gefunden, die wohl in der nächsten Zeit auch offiziell vorgestellt werden sollten.

Der Bunnahabhain 12yo Cask Strength 2021 Edition wird mit 55.1% vol. abgefüllt werden und verspricht auf dem Etikett intensiven Geschmack von Schokolade, Gewürzen und getrockneten Früchten. Er kommt ohne Farbstoffe und Kühlfiltration aus. Die Jahreszahl deutet auf eine jährliche Veröffentlichung hin.

Und so sehen die Label aus:

Nicht minder interessant ist eine Sonderausgabe des Johnnie Walker Black Label – der Johnnie Walker Black Label Sherry Finish. Der rauchige Johnnie Walker dürfte mit dem Finish in Sherryfässern noch mehr Komplexität gewinnen und wird jedenfalls eine geschmackliche Abwechslung bringen. Abgefüllt wird er wie üblich mit 40% vol. werden.

PR: Über 10 Millionen Fässer Bourbon lagern jetzt in Kentucky

Das stetige Wachstum der Bourbon-Industrie in Kentucky findet jetzt Ausdruck in einer imposanten Zahl: Es lagern nun bereits über 10 Millionen Fässer Bourbon in den Warehouses der Erzeuger in Kentucky.

Zu den 10.321.793 Fässern, die zum Erhebungszeitpunkt in den Lagerhäusern zu finden waren, kommen noch 558.535 Fässer mit anderen Spirituosen wie zum Beispiel Brandy hinzu, und mittlerweile, da Sie diese Zeilen lesen, werden es dann insgesamt wohl schon 11 Millionen Fässer sein.

Der Zuwachs im letzten Jahr kann sich ebenfalls sehen lassen: 2.5 Millionen Fässer sind alleine 2020 produziert worden, und damit wurde der Rekord von 2019 erneut gebrochen.

Bourbon Industry Calls on General Assembly to Stop Punitive Production Taxes

RANKFORT, Ky. – For the first time in the modern era of American whiskey, Kentucky has 10 million barrels of Bourbon aging in distillery warehouses across the Commonwealth, the Kentucky Distillers’ Association announced today.

Kentucky’s legendary distilling industry also set new production records for the number of Bourbon barrels filled in a single year – nearly 2.5 million – and for the total number of all aging barrels including other spirits such as brandy, at nearly 11 million. These numbers are for calendar year 2020. 

“Kentucky’s signature Bourbon industry continues to invest in our Commonwealth at unprecedented levels, despite global pandemic disruptions, exorbitant taxes and ongoing trade wars. This is truly a historic and landmark record.”

But that milestone comes with a cost, Gregory said. 

Distillers will pay a record $33 million in aging barrel taxes in 2021. Kentucky remains the only place in the world that taxes aging barrels of spirits as part of the production process, a discriminatory tax that hampers growth and jeopardizes the state’s ability to attract new distillers. 

Barrel taxes have catapulted 140% in the last 10 years alone, Gregory said.

“The Bourbon industry is investing more than $5 billion in this state to increase production, build innovative tourism centers and create thousands of new jobs,” he said. “But punitive barrel taxes are punishing this growth and harming our chances to land new distilleries. 

“It’s time for the legislature to take action and make barrel taxes refundable or transferable, which will further incentivize distilling investment in the Commonwealth. Kentucky should not have a tax structure that penalizes growth and investment on any manufacturer.”

Even though the Kentucky legislature passed a corporate income tax credit in 2014 to offset barrel taxes, the escalating number of barrels – and therefore taxes – far outpaces the amount of credit that distillers can take, Gregory said. Some distillers now only realize 30% of the credit. 

The new production numbers are based on inventories reported as of Jan. 1, 2021, submitted to the Kentucky Department of Revenue for tax purposes and includes all distilling companies in Kentucky, the vast majority of which are KDA member distilleries.

  • Total barrels of Bourbon: 10,321,793
  • Total inventory including Bourbon and other spirits: 10,880,328

The previous records for all three categories were set in calendar year 2019 and reported on Jan. 1, 2020. 

The Kentucky Bourbon revolution has seen tremendous growth since the turn of the century. Production has skyrocketed 436% since 1999. The state’s aging Bourbon inventory has increased 200% during that time while the total number of all barrels has nearly tripled. 

The tax-assessed value of all aging barrels is now $4.4 billion, the first time it has surpassed the $4 billion mark and a staggering $589 million increase over the previous year. 

Distilling remains the highest taxed industry in the state, paying more than $300 million every year in state and local taxes. Meanwhile, an upcoming economic impact study will show that Kentucky leads the nation in federal excise taxes on alcohol, paying $1.8 billion each year with almost all coming from distillers.  

This means that Kentucky distillers pay about $2 billion each and every year to the government in taxes. 

Bourbon is one of the Commonwealth’s most historic and treasured industries, an $8.6 billion economic engine that generates more than 20,100 jobs with an annual payroll topping $1 billion. Distillers also are in the middle of a $5.1 billion capital investment campaign to satisfy the global thirst for Kentucky Bourbon.

Unfortunately, retaliatory tariffs and never-ending trade wars continue to pose serious threats to those global exports, Gregory said. The European Union imposed a 25% tariff on American whiskey and other goods in 2018 in response to a U.S. tariff on steel and aluminum from the E.U. 

As a result, Kentucky Bourbon exports to the E.U. and the United Kingdom – the state’s largest whiskey export market – have plunged nearly 50%, according to data from the state Cabinet for Economic Development.

And it could get worse – the E.U. tariff on American whiskey is set to double to 50% on Dec. 1.

The KDA recently joined a coalition of 50 trade associations representing the entire three-tier chain of the U.S. alcohol industry in a letter to Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Trade Ambassador Katherine Tai urging the Biden administration to secure the suspension of tariffs on American whiskey. 

“Our industry is collateral damage in trade disputes that have nothing to do with Bourbon,” Gregory said.

“We reiterate our request that the Biden administration secure the immediate suspension of tariffs on American whiskey before more long-term damage is done. It’s been more than three years. The time to act is now.”

Nachdem Mickey Heads nicht nur als Distillery Manager bei Ardbeg in Pension gegangen ist, sondern auch als Vorsitzender des Ardbeg Committees, musste auch seine Position nachbesetzt werden. Man wurde bei Ardbeg in den eigenen Reihen fündig und fand eine Person, die für den Job wohl prädestiniert ist wie keine andere:

Neue Vorsitzende des Ardbeg Committees ist die Distillery Visitor Centre Managerin Jackie Thomson – und sie wurde den Committee Mitgliedern in der Hauptversammlung des Ardbeg Committees von Distillery Manager Colin Gordon vorgestellt.

Sie selbst schreibt in einem Brief an die Mitglieder:

Liebe Committee Mitglieder

Diejenigen, die unsere Jahreshauptversammlung erlebten werden wissen, dass ich euch heute mit einem schicken neuen Titel schreibe. Ich bin offiziell eure neue Vorsitzende des Ardbeg Committees.

Zu sagen, dass ich stolz bin dieses Amt zu übernehmen, ist eine Untertreibung. Das Ardbeg Committee sind die ultimativ leidenschaftlichsten, sachkundigsten und loyalsten Whisky-Fans der ganzen Welt. Ich weiß das, weil ich in den letzten 20 Jahren so viele von euch getroffen habe – tatsächlich sind das schon über 20 Jahre?

Zum einen mit dem Waterford Organic GAIA 2.1 die neue Auflage des biozertifizierten Whiskys aus Irland – die Erstauflage ist bereits ausverkauft. Und zum anderen den Single Malt Map of Islay, einem „Mystery Malt“ mit viel Rauch und maritimen Noten.

Sie heißen Paddy Tobin, Alan Jackson, Pat und Denis Booth, Jason Stanley, Trevor Harris und John Mallick und sind die Männer, die Waterfords Bio-Projekt primär möglich machen. Denn: Sie gehören zu den ersten irischen Bio-Bauern, die sich der Herausforderung stellen, Braugerste biologisch anzubauen – ein Unternehmen, das an zahlreiche Auflagen und strenge Kontrollen gebunden ist. Den ersten Erfolg ihrer Arbeit feierte Waterford vor rund einem Jahr mit dem ersten jemals in Irland biozertifizierten Whisky. Jetzt legt die Brennerei eine neue Auflage der ausverkauften Abfüllung nach, die nicht nur Serge Valentin von Whiskyfun begeisterte.

Für Organic: Gaia 2.1 hat Waterford die 2015er und 2016er Ernten der oben genannten Farmer gemeinsam verarbeitet, denn die Erträge reichten noch nicht für Single Farm Origins, die Terroir-basierte Abfüllungsreihe von Waterford. Der zertifizierte Organic Whisky ist benannt nach Gaia – in der griechischen Mythologie die Personifikation der Erde. Entsprechend ist der Single Malt nicht nur biologisch hergestellt, sondern auch 100-prozentig natürlich. Nach der Reifung in First Fill Casks aus den USA (39%), unbelegten Eichenfässern (17%), Premium-Weinfässern aus Frankreich (19%) sowie mit Süßweinen vorbelegten Vin Doux Naturel Fässern (25%) wurde Organic: GAIA 2.1 mit 50% vol. abgefüllt.

Der Map of Islay Single Malt – Synonym für seine gefeierte Heimat

Islay – wohl kein anderes Gebiet ist so ikonisch mit der Whiskyproduktion verwurzelt wie die schottische Insel. Nur rund 620 Quadratkilometer ist sie groß und doch Heimat von derzeit neun aktiven Destillerien, die die Herzen von Whisky-Liebhabern höherschlagen lassen. Mit ihren stark rauchig bis torfigen sowie maritimen Aromen stechen Single Malt Scotch Whiskys, die inmitten der dramatischen Insellandschaft entstehen, auf der Whisky-Landkarte hervor. Einer der ikonischen Tropfen: der Map of Islay – Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Die von Kirsch Import im klassischen Design entwickelte Abfüllung ist das Abbild ihrer berühmten Heimat. Viel Rauch prägt den goldfarbenen „Mystery Malt“ aus einer der Inselbrennereien. Die Lagerung an der stürmischen Küste von Islay ergänzt das starke Raucharoma um maritime Noten, die Whiskyfans direkt ans Meer versetzen: Salzige und Lakritzaromen untermalen die kräftige Torfnote des Gerstenbrandes. In der Nase klingen der süße Duft heller Früchte und sowie Vanille an. Frischer Tabak und die Würze des Eichenfasses runden die geschmackliche Reise auf die Hebrideninsel ab.

Bereits heute morgen wiesen wir in unserem Post ‚William Grant & Sons mit einem neuen Angebot für den Whisky-Sammlermarkt‘ bereits auf die kommende Wohltätigkeitsauktion The Distillers One of One am 3. Dezember hin. Nur kurze Zeit später erhielten wir eine englischsprachige Presseaussendung zu dieser Veranstaltung, die weitere Abfüllungen der Auktion vorstellt. ULTRA-RARE WHISKY LOTS ANNOUNCED AS SOTHEBY’S AND THE DISTILLERS’ CHARITY LAUNCH THE REMARKABLE DISTILLERS ONE OF ONE AUCTION

Over 40 extraordinary whiskies and experiences will soon be available at the first One of One Auction, the proceeds of which will support disadvantaged young people in Scotland

The first Distillers ‘One of One’ Auction to take place near Edinburgh on 3 December 2021

LONDON, 5 October 2021 – Earlier this summer, The Distillers’ Charity and Sotheby’s announced a six-year partnership to host three biennial auctions of ultra-rare and unique Scotch whiskies and experiences under the name “The Distillers One of One”. The first Distillers One of One auction – comprising one-off, never-to-be-repeated lots specially created and donated by companies from across the Scotch Whisky industry – will take place on Friday 3 December 2021. The exceptional lots are now being revealed for the first time and will range in estimates from around £1,500 upwards to £500,000, all to be offered without reserve. Each lot has been carefully selected to showcase the excellence in craftsmanship, innovation and value of Scotch Whisky.

For the most serious collectors seeking an opportunity to own a piece of liquid history, some truly astonishing releases have been made available. Of particular note, as the highest valued lot of the auction, with an estimate of £350,000-£500,000, is a Talisker Cask of Distinction 1978. Casks of Distinction are selected on account of their outstanding quality, and this is the first ever to be offered at auction, paired with a cask-end that has been turned into an original work of art by Turner Prize nominee Callum Innes. After further ageing in the cask for up to five more years, the whisky will be housed in very special bottles and wooden presentation boxes, featuring the cask-end artwork of Callum Innes; another first for Casks of Distinction.

William Grant & Sons is providing three lots from Glenfiddich, The Balvenie and Ladyburn, all exceeding fifty years of age. Glenfiddich’s exceptional offering comprises four unique decanters – created especially for the auction and housed in a bespoke presentation case – from the 1950s: 1955, 1957, 1958 and 1959. The estimate for this ultra-rare collector’s piece is £220,000-350,000.

Beam Suntory are generously offering two lots, one from Bowmore, the other from Glen Garioch.

The Bowmore Onyx is an exceptionally rare and unique 51 Year Old single malt presented in a hand carved, bespoke black glass vessel, inspired by the terroir of the island home of Islay. Matured in a refill hogshead barrel from 1970, this whisky is bottled at 47% ABV, and is the first ever 51 Year Old released by Bowmore Distillery (estimate £100,000-180,000).

The Glen Garioch Cask lot features two full casks of whisky: the first, a 31-year-old cask from 1990; the second, an en primeur cask distilled in 2021 (estimate £100,000-150,000). The last time that Glen Garioch was distilled using direct fire on the stills was 31 years ago. The practice of direct firing is now being reintroduced and this will be the very first cask from the newly fired stills, making this a unique lot of historical significance.

Scotland’s Oldest Working Distillery, The Glenturret, is providing an exclusive Lalique decanter bottling containing a unique Single Malt whisky selected from 1987 Sherry casks created by Master Blender, Bob Dalgarno. To house this precious liquid, Lalique have created a spectacular One of One hand-blown decanter in green crystal; the rarest that is made. Included in this lot (estimate £15,000-25,000) is an invitation to The Glenturret Distillery to enjoy a sensational gastronomic experience, led by Head Chef, Mark Donald at the newly opened Lalique Restaurant.

On offer from Gordon & MacPhail, the 126-year-old family business, is an unforgettable, bespoke visit to Elgin in Scotland. The lucky recipient will not only tour the historical warehouses but also sample from a selection of maturing Single Malt casks from the 1940s and 1950s. After choosing their favourite of the casks, one bottle of the whisky it contains will be filled into a unique decanter, with a second bottle provided for drinking. This once in a lifetime experience carries an estimate of £80,000-160,000.

The Distillers’ Charity is the philanthropic arm of The Worshipful Company of Distillers. Proceeds from The Distillers One of One auction will benefit The Youth Action Fund, which has been created by The Distillers’ Charity focusing on supporting disadvantaged young people in Scotland, transforming their life chances and empowering them to create positive change in their lives and communities. Working with charity partners who offer education and training programmes, the fund will provide young people with opportunities to develop life skills, discover their values and be work-ready.

Der Westway Park erhält einen neuen Mieter. In dem Industriegebiet neben dem Flughafen Glasgow findet die neu gegründete Westway Cooperage ihre Heimat. Einer der Köpfe und Hände hinter der neu gegründeten Küferei ist Jamie Reilly, Küfermeister in dritter Generation, dessen Familie seit 1961 im Küfereigeschäft tätig ist.

Gegenüber dem Herald Scotland führte Reilly unter anderem die rund um die Uhr gesicherte Umgebung als Vorteil des Westway Parks an. Derzeit werden die Ausbauarbeiten durchgeführt, die Eröffung der neuen Küferei soll dann zum Anfang des kommenden Jahres sein.

Die Highland-Destillerie The Dalmore führt The Dalmore 30 yo als eine limitierte und jährlich erscheinende Abfüllung ein. Die 2021er Edition dieses Single Malts reifte zunächst in ehemaligen Bourbonfässern aus amerikanischer Weißeiche, bevor er bis zur Abfüllung in Graham’s Tawny Port Pipes umgefüllt wurde. Mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 42,8% Vol. abgefüllt, versprechen die offiziellen Tasting Notes dekadent süße Aromen von frisch gebackenem Brioche und kandierter Orange, gefolgt von einem Gaumen voller reichhaltiger Waldfrüchte, die von den Tawny Port Pipes herrühren, abgerundet mit Aromen von Vanille und gehobelten Mandeln.

Nur 1318 Flaschen dieses lang gereiften Single Malts sind weltweit erhältlich. Die unverbindliche Preisempfehlung für Groß-Britannien beträgt £ 4.500, was fast 5.300 € entspräche und sich aufgrund regional unterschiedlicher Steuern ändern kann.
